Terms of use

The agreement, in plain English.

What this is, what it isn't, how subscriptions work, and the small set of promises we make to each other. Written by a person, not a legal team, because that is who is running this.

The short version

Ask Seek Abide is a Bible study companion, not pastoral counseling, therapy, or legal advice. AI responses can be wrong, so verify what matters against Scripture. Pro subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account. We offer a full refund within 30 days of any charge, no questions, no hoops.

What this is

Ask Seek Abide is a personal Bible study tool. You ask questions or share passages; an AI grounded in a Kingdom-of-God, with-God-life theological lens responds with historical context, original-language insight, and practical application. It is a study companion to help you read Scripture more deeply, save what you learn, and live what you read.

What this isn't

A few things this isn't, because it matters that we're honest about it.

Not pastoral counseling. If you're walking through grief, abuse, a crisis of faith, or anything you can't carry alone, please reach out to a real person you trust: your pastor, a counselor, a friend who will show up. The AI can offer context. It cannot be present with you.

Not therapy or mental health care. If you're experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, abuse, or any acute mental health symptoms, please talk to a licensed professional. The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.

Not legal, medical, or financial advice. The AI may engage biblical texts that touch on these areas, but nothing it says is a substitute for advice from a licensed professional.

Not an oracle. AI can be wrong, even when it sounds confident, especially on specific historical dates, original-language nuances, and citations. Always weigh what you receive against Scripture itself and the wisdom of your community.

Your account

You need to be 13 or older to use Ask Seek Abide. You're responsible for keeping your account safe, which means choosing a real password, not sharing it, signing out on shared devices, and telling us if something seems off. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, and when you do, your studies, journal, and usage history go with it. We keep no shadow copies.

Subscriptions and payment

Pro is offered as a monthly plan ($7/month) or a yearly plan ($70/year, which works out to about $5.83/month). Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each new billing period and your card on file is charged for the renewal. This continues until you cancel.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your full card number; Stripe stores it securely and sends us only the data we need to manage your subscription.

Refunds

If you decide Pro isn't right for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of any charge and we'll refund you in full. No questions, no hoops. After 30 days, you can still cancel future renewals at any time, but past charges are not refundable.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription any time from the Account page (the Manage Subscription button opens Stripe's billing portal). When you cancel, you keep Pro access through the end of your current billing period, then your account reverts to the free tier. We do not pro-rate cancellations mid-period; the 30-day refund window above is the way to recoup if you cancel right after a charge.

Acceptable use

Ask Seek Abide exists for personal Bible study. A few things we ask you not to do:

We can suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service. If we do, we'll explain why.

How AI responses work

Every response is generated by an AI model (currently Claude, made by Anthropic) using a custom system prompt and curated context (public-domain Bible translations, historical and cultural background notes, lexicon entries, and the Kingdom-of-God lens that shapes this tool). The model is large and capable but not infallible. It can hallucinate dates, citations, original-language nuances, and source attributions. Treat AI responses as a starting point for your own study, not as the final word on Scripture.

Disclaimers

Ask Seek Abide is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep the site running, the responses thoughtful, and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee:

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Ask Seek Abide is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, things like lost profits or downstream harms that flow from your use of the service rather than the service itself. For any direct claim, our total liability is capped at the greater of $100 or what you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Ask Seek Abide at any time and delete your account from the Account page. We can terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or that abuse the service in ways that harm other users or the platform itself. If we ever shut the entire service down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email and refund the unused portion of any active annual subscription.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time as the service grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will note the date and a short summary at the bottom. If a change affects your subscription, your data, or your account in a material way, we will email you before it takes effect.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith conversation may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wasatch County, Utah, or in small claims court where appropriate.

How to reach us

Ask Seek Abide is built by Ashley Sheleretis. The whole thing is one person plus a small set of tools, not a company. If you have a question about these terms, a billing concern, or anything else, email me directly. Real human, real reply.
